Give Your Love

I believe as human beings we underestimate who we truly are and what we have to give.  The universal power of love is considered the most powerful force in the universe.  A gentle touch, a smile or an act of kindness has the ability to feed the soul of many.  It’s astonishing how something that costs us nothing and can be accessed at any moment has the capacity to turn a situation around for someone in need.  Sometimes all we need to know is that someone cares.
We are here to love and encourage one another.   We are all in this life together.  The gift of your love to another is one of the most powerful gifts you can ever give.  People don’t walk away from us remembering what we said, they remember how we made them feel.  How do you want people to feel after having been with you?
Dr. Leo Buscaglia states,  “If you miss the love, you miss your life.”  He is not only referring to what you give out, but what you receive as well.  In surveys, it has been shown that roughly 85% of people have a harder time receiving love than giving it.  It has been said, to receive love is a great act of generosity.  Interpreted that means: When we allow others to give to us, we are inadvertently giving to them.  We are allowing them to feel the warmth and beauty that accompanies an act of love.  So by receiving their gift we are actually giving in turn.
Take a moment today to reflect on your life.  Is there someone you could be showing a bit more love to?  Is there somewhere in your life you have been holding out giving the tender, exquisite gift of your love?  I invite you today to GIVE IT AWAY!  We are all born with an abundance of love!  Show others they are special to you.  It is a proven fact that when love is given, a ripple effect ensues!  It keeps spreading out further and further and further.  Be willing to start the ripple today!  J

Namaste'

Definition: Namaste is a Hindi salutation or greeting. The word Namaste is a combination of the two Sanskrit words: nama, and te. Basically, nama means "to bow" and te means "you."

Interpretation:

The God/Goddess Spirit within me recognizes and honors the God/Goddess Spirit within you.

Each and every one of us holds Spirit within.  When one uses the word "Namaste'" it is in direct relation of honoring the light within another human being.  It is a bow.  It is a motion of equality and love.

On Being Your Authentic Self

Definition:
AUTHENTIC:  not false or copied; genuine; real

Being authentic in your life means being bold enough to know who you are. It's about embracing every little nuance, quirk, talent, expression of love and sense of humor along with multitudes of other things that make you UNIQUELY YOU.  It's about showing who you are no matter what.  The honorable traits and sometimes the less than honorable traits!  :) It's about letting go of outcomes or trying to be something you are not for someone else.
When we love ourself enough to show our true selves, our life opens up in remarkable ways!  We start to attract people who genuinely love us for who we are and support our authenticity as being a beautiful thing!
Have you ever been around someone who "sold" themselves to you as something they are/were not?  How did you feel when you discovered the true person?  Did you feel betrayed?  Did you still feel the same way about them?
The truth is, sometimes we don't even know we are not portraying our authenticity.  Would you be willing to look within today and ask yourself...  Is this truly what I believe/feel/want?  Am I being true to myself and allowing the whole of me to show?  Am I worried that I won't be liked if I show this part of me to someone?
Take a risk! Take a chance!  Who you are is wonderful, amazing, unique and beautiful from the top of your head to the tip of your toes and everything in between!
Go there.  Hold you up!  Celebrate your personality, opinions and quirks!

     Namaste'

Excerpt from: A Return to Love

~Accepting people as they are has the miraculous effect of helping them improve.  Acceptance doesn't prohibit growth; rather, it fosters it.
People who are always telling us what's wrong with us don't help us so much as they paralyze us with shame and guilt.  People who accept us help us to feel good about ourselves, to relax, to find our way.~

The Chilean Mining Incident

Amazing and beautiful to see how people will always come together during times of crisis to help another.  I’ve seen it time and again.  A crisis befalls another and we all rush in to help.  Men will hug men.  People will go long periods without food, sleep or water just to keep helping.  The love and effort put forth brings tears to the eyes of the observers.  It’s real, it’s raw and it’s remarkable.
What would it take to extend that kind of love and effort daily?  What if we offered ourselves for the betterment of another every, single day?  What if we could smile at strangers, hold open doors for people, stop by an elderly person’s house to just say hello?  What a beautiful planet Earth we would be living on…  J

Affirmation for Today

I treat myself with love and respect.  I'm in charge of my schedule and I'm generous with myself.  I deserve the same affection and care as everyone else.

Do you find you are someone who is always doing for others before yourself?  It's time to start taking care of #1.  For if we are not well taken care of, we can not care well for others.  Our mental and physical rest are important to keeping a healthy mind and body.  We can love others better once we have loved ourselves BEST!
