Again With the "Let Go"...

Lately, I have been putting some new spiritual concepts into practice/place...  I kept "looking" to see how my progress was/is...  I started to feel frustrated and everytime I peeked out, I felt as though I was taking a step backward.  It was a very strange sensation and I didn't understand it!  I asked for guidance from Spirit and low and behold this was in my inbox.  I receive daily quotes from the work of Esther and Jerry Hicks via Abraham.  Here is what it said:

"The need to see the immediate evidence of progress is the most significant hindrance to most people. When you attempt to take score of your progress too soon, you move further from the results you seek."

It still continues to amaze me how the universe is so ready and willing to answer our prayers and questions...  That was just what I needed to hear!  Once again, my message was "just let go...".

"One Day" by Matisyahu (song)

A song that gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it...  Take a listen if you're willing...    World peace and love to all...

One Day Lyrics

sometimes I lay
under the moon
and thank God I'm breathing
then I pray
don't take me soon
cause I am here for a reason
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
so when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
because
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
it's not about
win or lose
we all lose
when they feed on the souls of the innocent
blood drenched pavement
keep on moving though the waters stay raging
in this maze you can lose your way (your way)
it might drive you crazy but don't let it faze you no way (no way)
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
so when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
because
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
one day this all will change
treat people the same
stop with the violence
down with the hate
one day we'll all be free
and proud to be
under the same sun
singing songs of freedom like
one day x4
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day x6
ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Metta Sutta- Loving Kindness

A beautiful meditative practice based on the Buddhist's principles of achieving happiness for all beings.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_w0dOUyjKU

Metta - Loving Kindness

To wish happiness for all beings of all realms and happiness for yourself as well.  One of the 4 mental states one should practice.

Metta Sutta

This is what should be done
By one who is skilled in goodness,
And who knows the path of peace:
Let them be able and upright,
Straightforward and gentle in speech.
Humble and not conceited,
Contented and easily satisfied.
Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.
Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful,
Not proud and demanding in nature.
Let them not do the slightest thing
That the wise would later reprove.
Wishing: In gladness and in saftey,
May all beings be at ease.
Whatever living beings there may be;
Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none,
The great or the mighty, medium, short or small,
The seen and the unseen,
Those living near and far away,
Those born and to-be-born,
May all beings be at ease!

Let none deceive another,
Or despise any being in any state.
Let none through anger or ill-will
Wish harm upon another.
Even as a mother protects with her life
Her child, her only child,
So with a boundless heart
Should one cherish all living beings:
Radiating kindness over the entire world
Spreading upwards to the skies,
And downwards to the depths;
Outwards and unbounded,
Freed from hatred and ill-will.
Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down
Free from drowsiness,
One should sustain this recollection.
This is said to be the sublime abiding.
By not holding to fixed views,
The pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision,
Being freed from all sense desires,
Is not born again into this world.

What's Holding You Back?

"Have you blamed people or factors outside of yourself? It's important to understand that ALL problems are rooted inside us. Even the blocks that appear to be outside of us are only reflecting back an issue we have inside that we have not yet owned. Once we address our inner issue, the outer situation no longer troubles us.
The buck always stops with us. We step into our power when we accept responsibility for our lives."

Thought for Today

I relax and surrender all of my desires to God (Universe, Source, Spirit).  The infinite wisdom and love of the divine always provides for my needs in exactly the right way.  I breathe easily and open my arms to receive full faith.

Stress! How to break it down

Definition of stress as proposed by Miriam Webster Dictionary via Google:
A state of bodily or mental tension resulting from factors that tends to alter an existing equilibrium.
When one “stresses” it is due to the allowances of outside factors to influence the calm or equilibrium in one’s mental state.  It’s about an overload of information and or tasks that are not readily placed into the appropriate departments in our minds and/or our days.  It can mean worrying over things that we cannot control as well as bringing in worries that should be dealt with at a later date.
Broken down, a stressful day for me is when I allow circumstances beyond my control to wreak havoc in my mind.  It’s about a degree of disorganization both mentally and physically.  It’s the time when I lose touch with my center and allow everything to spin wildly out of control.
What to do?  Ahhhh…. Take a moment…  One may say, "But I don’t have time!"  It does not take very long to take a moment, get out of the hairiness and reevaluate the “stressors” in your life. This will allow simplification and/or clarity.
1.     Make a list of the stressors.  Feel free to make it as long as you want.  Go down the list and ask yourself what is imperative to take care of today, right this minute and what can wait a little longer?
2.     Take the items that you have isolated as imperative and go down that list.  Simplify further. Which item(s) require the utmost priority?  Again mark the items that need attention now and focus in that area.
3.     Put the focus and attention on those particular items.  Accomplish these tasks first.
4.     Take careful consideration to handle one thing at a time.  A half-way accomplished item will only factor stress back in.
My Thoughts:  What I have learned is I am no good for anything or anyone when I am running crazy and jumping from one thing to the next.  I have started a new pattern of stopping, breaking it down and handling one item at a time.  A schedule book and/or a running list helps tremendously with this!
Additionally, I have learned that the outcome is going to happen no matter what and my sanity (LOL) and peace during these moments are what really matter to me.  I wish to show up in the world in the highest way possible and if I allow the craziness to take hold of me, I am unable to do this.
Peace  J

Naysayers in our Lives

Have you ever had a really good idea or inspiration that you shared with someone else only to be faced with a look of doubt, scorn or negativity?  They couldn't possibly see themselves stepping outside their comfort zones therefore they look at others like they are "nuts" to even think about taking a risk.  They put their fears and doubts onto us and we oftentimes believe them.  These people are the naysayers in our lives.  They can stop us dead in our tracks, steal our enthusiasm and excitement and hold us back.  True? Only if we let them.....  :)
Spirit speaks to us all individually.  Spirit also has a different plan for each and every one of us.  What may be presented to one person may be the complete opposite of what may be presented to another.  We are all unique individuals.  We have different personalities, talents and gifts.  To allow someone else's opinion to guide us is just that...  an opinion.  The real truth lies in what is good for you and only you and Spirit can know that.  Trusting Spirit and having faith in ourselves is the sure way to bliss.
How do we do this, you might ask....  It starts with embracing all of who you are.  You are a perfectly perfect child of God who has been blessed with his/her own special gifts and talents.  Connect with who you are.  Believe in yourself and the messages being sent your way.  As we can not truly know for another what their path is, they can not truly know for us....  Trust your deep inner knowing and allow yourself to follow your divine path without anyone telling you "you can't do that!" or  "are you kidding me?"  Your life is between you and God.  Don't believe the naysayers that want to hold you back.  It's time to live your best life!
Namaste'

Note:  I feel it important to say, I'm speaking merely of following guidance for bettering one's life.  Taking the urges and hunches we get to go after our dreams and/or goals without letting others deflate our desires.  This is not to condone or excuse unsafe or unkind behavior for self or others.  Thank you.

Forgiveness

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.”          Lewis B.  Smedes

…to set a prisoner free…   You may ask yourself:  What does this mean?  How can I apply this to my life?  Is there someone I’m needing to forgive and I am choosing not to?

Fellow souls,  forgiveness is not an act of weakness it is an act of strength.  To hold onto a past hurt or grievance is only to carry pain and fear in our hearts.  We mistakenly believe we are punishing the offender when we are truly only punishing ourselves.   We believe that by holding on we are in control of a situation where we once felt out of control.  We bind ourselves to the past and are unable to move forward with wholeness through our lives.

Some of us are still steadfastly unwilling to forgive.  Would it be even a possibility for those of you to at least take a brief glimpse into it?  Would you be willing to at least look at the possibility of your personal freedom through forgiveness?  If the answer is yes, please try this:
“I am willing to take at a look at forgiving_________for ________.”

This mere suggestion to the Universe lets it know you are at least willing to look at the possibility of moving forward.  It shows you are tired of being bound to the past and harboring the ugly inside.   The Universe will then start aligning things for you to find this peace.

Let go…  Bring your freedom back…  Don’t go on one more day allowing your power and energy to be taken from you.  Embrace forgiveness…  Embrace healing!                                Namaste’

Whose Business Are You In?

There are 3 types of business:  Yours, someone else's and God's (Spirit, Source, Universe).  Whose business are you in at any given point of the day?  Check yourself.  Do you find yourself constantly thinking of something that is not yours?  Do you analyze and/or complain about something going on within another's life?  Take a moment.  Examine and explore.  Look inside and ask yourself- Whose business am I in?
My mother has had cancer for 5 years.  I love my mother more than anything.  Do I sit and wallow and worry about her cancer?  I do not.  I gave that up to "God's Business" a long time ago.  I pray for her.  I send her healing light and I assist her in keeping positive.  The rest I give to Spirit.  And she does the same.  In 5 years, I have only seen her sad or angry probably twice.  She and her doctors believe that her longevity through this is 90% due to her attitude and light.
When I find myself thinking or talking about someone else's "stuff", do I get upset and dwell on something that is surely not mine?  I do not.  I am responsible for my stuff and no one elses.  I send them love and compassion and know that they will work it out themselves.  "When you are in someone else's business, you have no time for your own."  (Byron Katie)  This does not mean we don't care.  It only means we don't waste valuable thought time and energy dwelling where we do not belong.  This does not mean I don't listen and be the best friend I can be, but I don't hang there emotionally long after the conversation is over.
Additionally, when we worry over a situation we are sending negative energy their way.  Sending them compassion is a higher vibration and sends them positive energy instead.

For more information I invite you to explore the work of Byron Katie.  She is an international speaker and has several books to her credit.  Truly fascinating work!

Silence

     Silence....     Silence....    Silence....

How do you feel in silence?  Is it uncomfortable or do you enjoy it?  Does your mind chatter away or do you find yourself in restful contemplation?
Many people I know run from silence.  The "quietness" is an uncomfortable place to be.  It allows our minds to run free.  It may allow subjects to surface that we are unwilling to look at or feel.  It can be scary... It can be uncomfortable...
I've been there.  I remember when I would do anything to not be alone or be in silence.  I didn't know it at the time, but it was so uncomfortable for me to not be moving or doing or have sound around me.  I contemplated this for awhile...  Did I really not want to be alone or was there something behind it all?  For me it was a little of both!  I'm a very social person.  One who enjoys sharing life.  But through further investigation, I also discovered that I was "covering" up the thoughts, feelings and messages being sent to me.
Upon further transformation in my life, I discovered (much to my surprise) how much I now enjoy my alone time.  How the silence speaks to me in amazing, beautiful, inspiring ways.  How the quiet place is a place of rest and serenity rather than a scary, alone place.
This was a major discovery for me!  I also found that I could heal hurts and fears more quickly when I had this time.  I reflected more...  I prayed more... and I meditated more...   Funny how the one thing I had stayed away from for so long, I needed the most.
I encourage any of you who are "afraid" of being alone and/or quiet to take a chance and embrace it!  Allow your innermost hurts, fears and desires to surface and be brought up to the light.  I think you will find your life changing in remarkable ways.

Free Up Your Time

Are you finding yourself running from one thing to the next and next?  Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed and wish for some "me" time?
Take a look at your schedule and commitments.  I mean, REALLY take a look.  Do you find yourself over committing?  Do you say yes, when you should be saying no?  Are you putting others wants and needs above your own all the time?
Time for self is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves.  It is the best self care!  Taking time to pamper, nurture and rest is beneficial to our overall health and wellness.  It's a time for centering, reconnecting with self and slowing down.  Wonderful and positive changes happen when we allow ourselves and our needs to matter.  We love ourselves!  And when we love and nurture ourselves, everyone around us benefits.
It's time to put aside the guilty feelings of what you "should" be doing and allow the natural flow of life to guide you to what's vitally important and what things may be left.  Free up your time and slow down a bit...  YOU is waiting for YOU!
     Peace.

Divine Timing

What is divine timing?

Divine timing is the intersection of all favorable circumstances for your desires to manifest.  Know that your prayers and affirmations have been heard and are being answered.   This is where our faith and patience comes in.  Rest in your trust and patience knowing that everything is being taken care of behind the scenes on your behalf.

You may be seeing or feeling markers that are a sure indication of great things on the horizon. Hold the faith!   Let go of the big picture and trust that everything is going according to plan.

Peace.
