Namaste'

Definition: Namaste is a Hindi salutation or greeting. The word Namaste is a combination of the two Sanskrit words: nama, and te. Basically, nama means "to bow" and te means "you."

Interpretation:

The God/Goddess Spirit within me recognizes and honors the God/Goddess Spirit within you.

Each and every one of us holds Spirit within.  When one uses the word "Namaste'" it is in direct relation of honoring the light within another human being.  It is a bow.  It is a motion of equality and love.

Take a moment...

If you are willing, take a moment today, just one little moment and stop and look around you. Are you in awe of the world? Are you seeing things perhaps for the first time? Breathe in the beauty and splendor that surrounds us everyday.

On Being Your Authentic Self

Definition:
AUTHENTIC:  not false or copied; genuine; real

Being authentic in your life means being bold enough to know who you are. It's about embracing every little nuance, quirk, talent, expression of love and sense of humor along with multitudes of other things that make you UNIQUELY YOU.  It's about showing who you are no matter what.  The honorable traits and sometimes the less than honorable traits!  :) It's about letting go of outcomes or trying to be something you are not for someone else.
When we love ourself enough to show our true selves, our life opens up in remarkable ways!  We start to attract people who genuinely love us for who we are and support our authenticity as being a beautiful thing!
Have you ever been around someone who "sold" themselves to you as something they are/were not?  How did you feel when you discovered the true person?  Did you feel betrayed?  Did you still feel the same way about them?
The truth is, sometimes we don't even know we are not portraying our authenticity.  Would you be willing to look within today and ask yourself...  Is this truly what I believe/feel/want?  Am I being true to myself and allowing the whole of me to show?  Am I worried that I won't be liked if I show this part of me to someone?
Take a risk! Take a chance!  Who you are is wonderful, amazing, unique and beautiful from the top of your head to the tip of your toes and everything in between!
Go there.  Hold you up!  Celebrate your personality, opinions and quirks!

Are You Lying to Yourself?

At first glance, that probably feels like an offensive question.  It’s not meant to be.  It has only been posted to invoke an awareness within.  Most often, we don’t even realize we are doing it!  We get so caught up in our thoughts, we convince ourselves of certain realities and we feel safe staying put.
How about taking a moment to s t r e t c h yourself?  Pick a topic.  It can be anything from your job, your partner/spouse, your health, or your living arrangements.  And ask yourself this one question:
          Does this___________ bring me joy?
Sit with it for a few minutes.  Allow your mind to get through the Ego and into your inner knowing.  It may seem scary at first, but trust yourself.  Dig deep, allow any and all thoughts and emotions to come fully up to the surface.  What did you find?  You may be surprised at your answer.  You may discover that this certain “something” actually does bring you joy and you’ve been focusing on the petty things or you may find that you were just “existing” within a certain “something” and something needs to change to fulfill your dream of joy.
We all deserve the best that life has to offer!  Start on your journey today to living your life of GREATNESS!

Thought for Today

I surrender my concerns knowing that harmony comes from love not worry.  I am carefree and lighthearted as I release the burdens I have been carrying.  I now lovingly pass my worries to the Universe (God, Spirit, Source).  I feel centered and peaceful.
And so it is...

Just say YES!

Do you find yourself saying NO all the time?  Do you find yourself passing up on opportunities even if they are small ones?
Try turning that around!  Just say YES!  Say YES to life!  Say YES to new opportunities big or small.  Explore your world.  Open up new doors.  Revamp your life!
You will be surprised at how your life changes for the better when you open yourself up.  Life becomes exciting and colorful again and one never knows what one small opportunity will lead to next!
     Enjoy!

Question: Suppressed emotion

Ask yourself today:  Is there an emotion that I am not allowing up to the surface?  If yes,  sit quietly, allow the emotion to surface, look at it and observe.  Ask your higher power to heal this emotion and move you closer to peace.  Amazingly, the power of that emotion will fade...  That which is brought up to the light begins to heal...

Excerpt from: A Return to Love

~Accepting people as they are has the miraculous effect of helping them improve.  Acceptance doesn't prohibit growth; rather, it fosters it.
People who are always telling us what's wrong with us don't help us so much as they paralyze us with shame and guilt.  People who accept us help us to feel good about ourselves, to relax, to find our way.~

Meditation for Releasing Worries and Fears

What are your worries and fears of today?  If you are ready to release the heavy burden of carrying them around, then this exercise is for you!

~Find a quiet, comfortable position to either sit or lie in.
~Close your eyes.
~Take a deep, cleansing breath.
~Allow your worries to come up into consciousness.
~Imagine a silky white sheet lying on the ground in front of you.
~Imagine walking up to the sheet and laying all your worries and fears   onto the white fabric.
~Tell your worries and fears that they no longer serve you and you are releasing them for good.
~Imagine the fabric folding up and being carried away into the infiniteness of the universe.
~Feel the weight lifting off of you as your worries are being carried away.
~Ask your higher power (God, Source, Spirit, Universe, Light) to please take care of these issues in the best way for your highest good.
~Say a heartfelt thank you and release…

You may repeat this exercise as many times as you need and at anytime.  With practice comes true release and with true release comes peace.

And so it is…

Healing begins when...

... we bring our inner fears and emotions up to the surface.  Where there is light, there can not be darkness.

Take a moment today to explore what emotion is just below the surface.  What emotion in you needs to be recognized and brought up to the light?  It's an amazing event when one can recognize such things.  The power behind it diminishes greatly and healing begins.

The Chilean Mining Incident

Amazing and beautiful to see how people will always come together during times of crisis to help another.  I’ve seen it time and again.  A crisis befalls another and we all rush in to help.  Men will hug men.  People will go long periods without food, sleep or water just to keep helping.  The love and effort put forth brings tears to the eyes of the observers.  It’s real, it’s raw and it’s remarkable.
What would it take to extend that kind of love and effort daily?  What if we offered ourselves for the betterment of another every, single day?  What if we could smile at strangers, hold open doors for people, stop by an elderly person’s house to just say hello?  What a beautiful planet Earth we would be living on…  J

Gratitude

Have I taken the time to look around me and appreciate all that I have?

Sometimes I like to ask myself this question.  I can get so caught up in all that is going on around me that I lose track of myself, my purpose and my joy.  A little mental inventory is just the perfect thing to bring me back into the now.

Last year, my world was full of chaos, sadness, anger, fear and pain.  At times I felt like I would never see the light.  The light did come.  And it actually came in the middle of the chaos!  It wasn’t a big, blue, bright, endless Arizona sky at first.  It was just a sliver of beautiful sunlight through the dark clouds.  But it was there…  It’s so easy to get caught up in it all, that we can’t see further than 1inch in front of us.  This is the time more than ever to be grateful for what we do have.  Even through life’s trials, we all have something to be grateful for.

Gratitude brings more good to us.  I encourage you to take the time to look around you and smile.  This too shall pass and good is coming your way!

Affirmation for Today

I treat myself with love and respect.  I'm in charge of my schedule and I'm generous with myself.  I deserve the same affection and care as everyone else.

Do you find you are someone who is always doing for others before yourself?  It's time to start taking care of #1.  For if we are not well taken care of, we can not care well for others.  Our mental and physical rest are important to keeping a healthy mind and body.  We can love others better once we have loved ourselves BEST!

Thought for Today

I give myself permission to take charge of my life and make the changes that bring joy to my heart.  I'm my own authority figure,  and I have the right to follow my inner Divine guidance.

The Secret- Quote by Bob Proctor

There's something so magnificent about you.  I have been studying me for forty-four years.  I wanna kiss myself sometimes!  Because you're going to get to love yourself.  I'm not talking about conceit.  I'm talking about a healthy respect for yourself.  And as you love yourself, you'll automatically love others.

LoveLines

Love  defines the relationship you have with others, be they people or plants, spirits or stars.  It describes who you are in relation to them.  It also suggests who you are in relation to yourself.  That is the most important relationship you will have in this or any other lifetime except for the one you have with God.
An excerpt from: LoveLines   By Gates McKibbin, PH.D.

Message For Today- Meditation

A daily meditation helps to quiet the mind...  It helps to get out of the 'thinking' part of your brain and into a state of deeper awareness...  It helps to enhance personal and spiritual growth...  It clears out space for Spirit (God, Source, Universe) to speak to us...
